Hidden Lake - St. Augusta
The park is open from May till October (to
be confirmed), parking and access to the park can always be
had from the fire hall. The course wraps around a lake and comes out
behind the fire hall at hole #13. You can always park on that side
but you will have a little bit of a walk to get to hole #1 (maybe a
city block down the road). The bugs are awful, bring bug spray.
The course is tight, and yes you will be in pain if you need to go
searching for you disc. The upside is that all the pain is caused by
raspberry bushes so if you need a snack they should be ripe
mid to late summer. There
are
water hazards holes 15 and 17...
trails between holes and between shots still in beta stage (full of
sharp wood shavings and sticks).. 2 excellent par 5s (711' and 670')
through some open field... Very very thick underbrush in woods
(+thorns).. makes discs hard and perhaps painful to find/retrieve...
Thanks to
Art Voelker Fire Chief, St. Augusta Fire
Department and other for info. We are still
looking for more info... type of baskets, length of holes etc.
Note for
Tournaments: There is good parking at the park but for
overflow parking for tournaments, people
should
park in the field to the south of the fire hall
and not up by the building. The paved parking area is for the fire
fighters when there is a fire call. |
